Inuyasha's group heads toward the Realm of Fire following the tip from Kagura, there they find Gozu and Mezu, the guardians of the gate of the afterlife, these two show no interest on letting Inuyasha trough so easily.

Naraku presents himself to the mistress of the demonic birds from hell, Princess Abi. He offers his help in order to heal Abi's poisoned mother. Abi ends accepting the help and obtains a powerful halberd which she uses to collect the blood of humans in order to dilute the poison in her mother body.
