[edit] Episode 35: The True Master Chosen by the Noted Sword

Sesshoumaru and InuYasha battle. Sesshoumaru is mortally wounded by his half-brother, but the Tensaiga saves him. InuYasha leaves Sesshoumaru behind. A young village girl finds Sesshoumaru in the woods and tends to his injuries, despite his callous manner to her ministrations.

[edit] Episode 36: Kagome Kidnapped by the Wolf Demon, Kouga

The young girl that has helped Sesshoumaru is attacked by wolves. InuYasha arrives to stop the wolves from slaughtering the villagers, and they realize the pack is led by a wolf demon named Kouga. Kouga retreats, but returns the next day to kidnap Kagome, for her jewel seeing powers.
